As we approach the 10th anniversary of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples on 13 September 2017, EGM served as an opportunity to assess the impact of the three indigenous mechanisms’ work on implementing the Declaration to date and the challenges that lie ahead, as well as to focus on the specific roles of the indigenous specific mechanisms and how they can, work together more effectively to operationalize the Declaration.
